While nearly three million U.S. military veterans have served their country since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, many of them have returned to a highly successful civilian life — as business owners.
According to CreditDonkey.com, more than 2.4 million U.S. businesses are owned by veterans, totaling almost a tenth of all businesses and employing just under six million Americans.
Even more, they’re not just getting by — almost 80% register sales of $100K or more.
And, although military veterans come from all ages, about three-quarters of all veteran business owners are at least 55 years old, showing no sign of slowing down as they enter an exciting new life mission of becoming an entrepreneur.
In particular, California, Texas, and Florida have the highest amount of veteran-owned businesses in the country.
